Assignment Selling Library Map

Assignment selling means deliberately using helpful education inside the Sales process. It does not mean forcing every prospect through the same content gate or treating content consumption as proof of fit.

Start with the buyer moment and the live concern. Assign the smallest useful resource, explain why it helps, and leave room for accessibility needs and a direct human conversation.

Useful starting moments

MomentCommon content job, not a required bundle
Before an initial conversationExplain fit, service area, broad cost/scope drivers, process, who the company is, and what information would make the call useful
Before site or design workClarify existing-condition uncertainty, design/preconstruction work, access, decision-makers, allowances, and what the next stage can or cannot prove
Before a proposal decisionHelp the household compare scope, assumptions, exclusions, schedule, communication, changes, proof, and operating fit, not just price
Before constructionSet expectations for disruption, safety, pets, access, decisions, communication, changes, and recovery paths
When a concern appearsOffer the most relevant explanation or example, then discuss what is actually different about this household or project

Using the library well

  • The resource answers a real buyer question with sourced, current company truth.
  • Sales can explain why it is relevant to this buyer and what remains project-specific.
  • The buyer can use a different format or ask for a human explanation.
  • Lack of tracking does not become a claim that the buyer did nothing.
  • Engagement is not treated as qualification, consent, or intent by itself.
  • The team reviews which resources improve conversations and which create confusion.

Avoid unsupported close-rate promises, universal completion targets, “tire-kicker” framing, or a mandatory content threshold before a person may speak with Sales.

Use with the Revenue Team operating model, Trust-first Remodeler Selling, and client-education examples.
